NumXL - Getting Started

NumXL is an econometric and time series analysis Excel Add-in. In order to make the best use of NumXL, you should have basic knowledge in econometrics and you should be comfortable using Microsoft Excel and its built-in features.

Getting Started with NumXL is designed as a self-study course. We are constantly working on improving it, so we invite comments, suggestions, and criticisms.

The material in this document is organized in term of its relevance (and to some extent, difficulty). You may chose any order you feel comfortable with, but please, bear in mind, that examples are developed gradually.

In this document, we will demonstrate the basic steps to conduct your own time series analysis, to diagnose model’s residuals and to make forecasts all in Microsoft Excel and using only NumXL Add in.
