The descriptive statistics automate the statistical basic analysis of a time series and perform a variety of statistical tests to better understand the underlying distribution of the data sample. To use this functionality, select the corresponding icon on the toolbar (or the menu item), point to the data sample on your worksheet, select the different test and summary statistics, and designate a location on your sheet to print the results to.

The descriptive statistics wizard performs a series of data validation checking; for instance, the significance level should be a positive number smaller than one.

Upon completion, the function outputs the selected statistical summaries and their corresponding tests as formulas (not raw numbers) in the designated location of your worksheet.
